What is WorldGuard doing?
WorldGuard protects the world with regions and flags: controls construction, PvP, interactions, and a host of server rules.
Regions and flags
WorldGuard describes gaming territories as regions with their own rules. One region can protect the spawn from construction, another can set the features of the arena, the third can limit interactions in a public place. Behavior is determined by flags and how multiple regions overlap.
Working with WorldEdit
WorldEdit tools are usually used to highlight the area, and then create a region in WorldGuard. Boundaries are important: an error in coordinates will leave part of the building unprotected or block someone else's territory. Check the flags on a regular account, as the administrator often has the rights to bypass prohibitions and won’t see the problem the same way a player does.
Protection of the central square
The spawn usually forbids the destruction and installation of blocks, but leaves interaction with the desired NPC or menu. If a region intersects with an arena, priorities and flags can produce unexpected results. They should be checked from the account without the rights to bypass protection: the administrator can freely build where an ordinary player will receive a ban.
