What MiniMOTD does
MiniMOTD configures a short description of the Minecraft server visible in the client’s server list. This is part of the first impression before you connect.
Registration of the list
The MOTD can display project name, formatting, and other information within the scope of the client list. It is convenient to report the game mode and season features without overloading the text. For new players, a description that is too long or unreadable is worse than a simple clear message.
Different versions of the client
The display of colors and symbols can vary between clients. Some other plugins and proxies change the MOTD too, so it’s important to determine which system is responsible for the final message. If a proxy network is used, first determine which node responds to the server list request.
Practical verification
View the server in the list from multiple versions of Minecraft, check for string transfers and special characters. After the configuration change, make sure the message is updated and the server technical data remains correct.
