What Grim Anticheat does
Grim Anticheat checks the movements and other actions of players, helping to detect signs of cheats on the Minecraft server.
Checking for suspicious traffic
Grim Anticheat analyzes the behavior of players and compares the actions with the expected rules of the game protocol. The goal is to detect abnormal movements and other irregularities that cannot be reliably identified from a single participant’s complaint. The checks are done on the server side.
False positives and punishments
Any anticheat needs testing on real server modes. Non-standard mechanics, network features and other plugins can change the movement of players. Automatic punishment for an unverified signal can affect an honest user. Study the logs first and create exceptions only for truly compatible mechanics.
How to inject anticheat
At first, collect signals without automatic locking and manually analyze controversial cases. Check for movements on ice, water, effects, and unstable ping, especially if the mode uses non-standard abilities. Only after analyzing the false positives is it worth discussing the automatic measures.
