What does DiscordSRV do?
DiscordSRV links Minecraft server events and messages to Discord so that community members can communicate between the game and the external channel.
Messaging
The plugin can transmit messages between the game chat and selected Discord channels according to the settings. Working integration requires a properly configured bot and access to its token. The token should be kept as a secret and changed if compromise is suspected. Additional features depend on the release and selected modules.
Bot security.
Do not store the token in a public repository and do not issue unnecessary administrative permissions to the bot. It is necessary to decide which game messages are allowed for forwarding, how moderation is handled and what happens when Discord is not available.
Integration verification
Send a test message from Minecraft and Discord, verify the correct authorship and formatting. Separately test special characters and links: text from an external chat cannot be automatically considered trusted.

Tie channels and ask permissions from the bot and players.
Specific commands and compatibility check with the documentation of the selected release.
Download plugins only from trusted sources and save a configuration backup before upgrading.
