What Citizens are doing

Citizens allows you to create non-player characters (NPCs) on the Minecraft server: place them in the world, set the appearance and connect actions.

NPC as part of the server

Citizens adds characters that stay in pre-selected locations and serve as part of the game space. An NPC can be used as a navigation point in a lobby, a quest character, or a visual service designation. Unlike a regular mob, this character is created and configured by the administrator, and its role is determined by the configuration.

Scenarios require integrations

The NPC itself is not yet a full-fledged trader or story interlocutor. World-to-world transitions, dialogues, trading, and complex activities are often implemented by other plugins connected to Citizens. It is important to check how characters behave after a server restart and kernel update: NPC is closely related to the server entity device.

NPC in lobby

Instead of a wall of tablets, you can place characters at the entrances to game modes. One explains the rules, the other leads to the store, the third opens the tasks through integration. NPC activities should be checked after restarting and changing the world. Not all dialogue and movement capabilities are part of Citizens’ basic setup.
