What Chunky does
Chunky pre-generates Minecraft world chanks to reduce load surges when players first explore new areas.
Generate terrain before players arrive
Chunky bypasses a selected area of the world and creates chunky in advance. This takes the hard work of the generator to a time when there are no hundreds of researchers on the server. At the start of the season, players can navigate through a pre-prepared map, and the server less often has to create a landscape right as they move.
Boundaries and loads
Pregeneration of large radii requires time, disk and processor. The wider the given area, the greater the amount of work; the constraints are better calculated before launch. Generation does not eliminate lags from mobs, farms, and failed plugins. Once the world generator is upgraded, part of the territory may be different from the new chunks, so plan the seasons with the Minecraft version in mind.
Before the season begins
The administrator sets the boundary of the world, runs the pregeneration at night and monitors the loading of the CPU and disk. After completion, players explore the already prepared area. This does not replace the limitations of the world: if the participants can go far beyond the calculated boundary, the server will again start generating new chunks during the game.
