DemocracyCraft: 1lLight Files a Claim Against coslos

On the role-playing Minecraft server DemocracyCraft registered civil suit 1lLight against the player coslos. The application is filed in Redmont Commonwealth District Court and relates to correspondence to Discord relating to the server community. The plaintiff's interests are represented by solicitor Blueshadow0324.

The complaint states that during a discussion in Discord, the defendant stated that 1lLight was not affiliated with the Communist Workers Company (CWC). The plaintiff’s statement added a picture with a rainbow flag and a phrase in the spirit of “bro think he part of the team” with crying emoji. Separately, a remark is mentioned that the recognition of this “under a communist post” will allegedly lead to sending it to the Gulag.

1lLight insists that these statements are not true and were addressed to him personally, and that the discussion, according to the text of the lawsuit, involved or was attended by about five people, and the branch itself was available to the broader Discord community of DemocracyCraft, which at the time numbered approximately 1 700 participants or more, and the plaintiff believes that the publications may have affected the attitude towards him in CWC and the server community as a whole, and the combination of the text and the image was a public humiliation.

The case materials include a screenshot of the CWC membership message with an accompanying image, a screenshot of a phrase about the Gulag, and a full Discord thread with the context of the conversation. The plaintiff intends to use them to confirm the content of the publications, their context and the circle of persons to whom they could be accessed.

The lawsuit invokes the Redmont Civil Code's defamation and verbal abuse provisions, and, if applicable, the wilful infringement rule. 1lLight asks for DC$2,500 from coslos for alleged reputational damage and humiliation, as well as for the defendant to publish a retraction on the same Discord channel. At the time of publication, the case has the status of pending: the claims set out in the application are the position of the plaintiff, and the court decision is not indicated.
