Minecraft Preview 26.70.22: snow bricks and a cube that freezes water

In Minecraft Bedrock comes a real winter - and it's not just snow biomes. ** October 28, 2026** Mojang introduced Preview 26.70.22: now you can build from snowbrick, and an unusual mob is able to turn water into an ice path right on the go.

Snow Bricks: A Castle That Doesn't Melt

In the preliminary version, a whole building set appeared: snow bricks, slabs, steps and walls. These are decorative blocks that don’t melt, so you can build an ice palace without fear of walls. It is better to use a shovel for mining.

At the same time, the developers brought order to the bricks made of dense ice: they corrected the location in the creative inventory and interaction with water and lava. When installing a music block on such a material, a chime sounds.

Cold sulfur cube - a living "Icewalker"

One of the most impressive innovations is the Cold Sulfur Cube. Give a sulfur cube a block of blue ice, and it will get a cold variety. Moving through the water, the cube leaves behind frosty ice - about as much as the charm of the "Icebreaker". You already want to have a mob race across the lake or a test of the freezing speed of the river.

What else has been fixed at Bedrock

In the ice caves, residents and zombie residents now appear in snowy variants. The transformation of drowned and cadavers into frosty creatures was corrected. A traveling merchant sells an ice crystal for two emeralds.

There are less noticeable, but useful changes: teleportation with Ender’s pearls, some split screen and interface errors have been fixed. For **Linux Bedrock Dedicated Server**, optimization of resource sets has been added.

How to try Preview 26.70.22

Minecraft Preview is available on supported Xbox, PlayStation, Windows and iOS; Android uses a beta program. This is a **test build**, not a stable release: it is better to create a separate world and save a backup.
