How the BlockRadar Rating Works and Why Rankings Cannot Be Bought

BR Score counts from real data and is not sold. We analyze the ranking formula and use the historical example of SKYBARS to show how a strong server gets into the TOP‐100 BlockRadar.

How the BlockRadar Rating Works and Why Rankings Cannot Be Bought

BlockRadar Rating – Assessing the Real Server

The BlockRadar rating is a comparison of Minecraft servers primarily by stable audience in 7 days. The audience share in BR Score is 85%, and the remaining 15% is accounted for by a separate quality assessment. The number of players comes from Minecraft server responses; monitoring cannot guarantee that each player declared is a unique person.

The BlockRadar rating cannot be purchased. Money does not add BR points, does not raise the server in the rating and does not issue evaluation statuses. Advertising and commercial promotion are separated from objective evaluation.

How are BR Score and places in the world TOP

**Preliminary score = 85% of audience score + 15% of quality score.**Audience score grows as the square root of the online average for 7 days relative to 50 000 players (maximum 100/100).

The public **BR Score = preliminary score × confidence⁴**. This adjusted BR Score is shown on the server profile and determines its position in the rankings. Suspiciously constant high player counts, including counts that remain completely unchanged for at least 48 hours, receive a substantial penalty. A player count reported by the server is not independent confirmation of its audience. Servers receive no bonus for a familiar name or advertising payments.

The quality score is stored separately and is available in the server card along with the audience score.

What makes up the quality score (15% BR Score)

  • ⏱ Uptime is 3%. How stable is the server at the distance?
  • 👥 Online - 38.8%. The observed average online response from the server is taken into account, not one successful peak.
  • 📈 Growth is 3%. Comparison of comparable 7-day windows with sufficient data coverage.
  • Stability is 5%. The less sudden and chaotic jumps, the higher the estimate.
  • ⚡ Ping - 7.3%. A quick and stable response gives you extra points.
  • ★ Votes are 7.3 percent. The voices are helpful, but they have limited weight.
  • 3.3% Confirmed Owner: BlockRadar Confirmation adds a maximum of 3.3 points to the individual quality score, rather than directly to the final BR.
  • The official website is 3.3%.
  • 💬 Discord — 3,3%.
  • The quality of the content is 6.3%. Description, icon, tags and useful sections of the knowledge base are evaluated.
  • The interest of the players is 4%. IP viewing and copying are taken into account.
  • 🔎 Organic search is 4.3%. Real Google/Yandex transitions to a server card in 30 days are taken into account; bots are not counted.
  • The age of observations is 3.3%.
  • Trust in data is 7.8%. The sources and volume of accumulated statistics are taken into account.

The weights of these 14 components together give **100% of the individual quality score**, which accounts for 15% of the final BR Score. The main part of the final assessment – 85% – is formed by the average audience. Ping, voices, website availability, and Discord cannot replace the popularity of the server.

The audience score scale is limited to 50,000 average players. Servers with an average online average of 5,000 and 30,000 players receive markedly different scores per audience. A one-time peak does not replace a sustainable online one. The six-hour smoothing of old BR scores is removed: the audience data itself is already averaged over a week.

How the server gets a place in the ranking

  1. BlockRadar regularly checks the server and saves its observation history.
  2. From history, uptime, average online, growth, stability and average ping are calculated.
  3. Added to these are the confirmed owner, page content quality, infrastructure, player interest, and organic search demand.
  4. The quality score is calculated separately; BR Score unites 85% of the audience and 15% of the quality. Verification of reliability additionally affects the position in the TOP.
  5. Servers are sorted according to the final rating, and positions are recalculated automatically.

🏅 What do the TOP collections mean?

  • TOP 10 BR - places from 1st to 10th.
  • TOP 30 BR - places from 11th to 30th.
  • TOP 50 BR - places from 31st to 50th.
  • TOP 100 BR – places from 51st to 100th.

Each server is located only in its current rating group. If you change the indicators, it can go higher or lower - there are no eternal places in the TOP.

Historical example: Skybars

Historical example from the previous version of the ranking (before recalculation on October 23, 2026): SKYBARS ranked #57 BR, had a BR Score 61.2 and was in the TOP 100 BR.

Why is the result strong?

  • Uptime for 7 and 30 days – 100%. The server responds consistently to checks.
  • Growth – 100/100 in terms of the rating component. The average online game in 7 days has grown from about 312 to 828 players – about 165%.
  • Online - 78.9/100. This is already the level of a noticeably popular project.
  • Trust in data – 100/100: enough observations and sources have been accumulated for a confident assessment.
  • 🔥 Automatic markings – “Fast-Growing”, “Stable” and “Popular”.
  • For votes, the server received 0 rating points. Its place in the TOP-100 is ensured primarily by real performance indicators and audience.

At the time of the example, BlockRadar recorded a record of 1,809 players. It’s a good example of a project that doesn’t just show big online in one minute, but combines an audience with impeccable accessibility and very strong growth dynamics.

At the time of the historical example, SKYBARS looked powerful: to enter the TOP-100 against the background of the entire catalog with 100% uptime and such growth is a serious result. At the same time, there is still room for upward movement: an improvement in the average ping and a more complete profile can add additional points.

🧭 Open rating selections

How to use the BlockRadar filter

On the main page, open "All tags". You can choose the game modes, Java or Bedrock, language, license type and server evaluation features. Several tags are allowed to be combined: for example, search for Russian-language Java servers of a certain mode within the desired rating group.

TOP filters are mutually exclusive – at the same time, the server cannot be in the TOP-10 and in the TOP-100. But the rating group can be combined with the usual catalog tags. So from the overall rating quickly gets your collection.

What if my server isn’t in BlockRadar yet?

Add it to the catalog. After entering the system, BlockRadar will begin to collect real indicators, and the rating will be formed automatically as data accumulates.

BlockRadar helps you choose servers not based on promises or the size of your advertising budget, but according to data. The rating changes with the real work of the project, so you need to earn it.
