What makes FerriteCore
FerriteCore reduces the consumption of Minecraft RAM by optimizing the storage of some of the data of block models and gaming objects.
Where do savings come from?
FerriteCore reduces memory overuse by some internal Minecraft structures. In a modified game, similar data about the patterns and states of the blocks can be repeated many times, and a build with a lot of content increases this load. Optimizations are aimed at storing such data, not at removing textures or reducing the range of visibility.
When it matters.
If modpack consumes a lot of RAM before entering the world, FerriteCore can reduce the baseline costs. This is not a substitute for enough RAM: memory is still essential for the world, resources, entities, and Java. Increasing the number of employees is not the main goal. To evaluate the result, compare the memory consumption in the same build and under the same conditions, without changing the other optimizers at the same time.
Verification of the result
For an objective comparison, run the same build with the same resource packs and measure memory usage after the world is loaded. Do not change the amount of Java memory allocated at the same time, otherwise the conclusions will be incorrect. The garbage collector and caching also affect readings, so a single measurement immediately after launch does not reflect the whole picture.
