What Clumps are doing
Clumps brings together closely spaced realms of experience. This reduces the number of individual objects that need to be processed after mass mining, killing mobs, or running a farm.
Why experience creates a burden
Each field of experience is a separate game entity, and with high farm performance, a lot of them can accumulate. Processing the position and interaction of such objects consumes resources. Clumps connects the spheres into larger groups to reduce the number of concurrent objects and make them easier for the player to select.
server or client
The effect makes sense where experience objects are created, but the installation mode depends on the build and platform of the particular release. Clumps doesn’t speed things up: if the delays are caused by the complex generation of the world or the heavy logic of the machines, combining the experience won’t solve the problem. Compatibility checks are especially important on servers with drop change plugins.
How to check the effect
Measure on the test world with the same farm before installation and after it. Measure the number of objects and tick time, not just the client’s FPS. Make sure that the experience is accrued correctly and that the rules of selection do not change after death or teleportation.
